4th gridposition for Robert in Spain

Dutch ace Robert Doornbos qualified himself in fourth position for tomorrow's second F3000 race of the season.
In the first half hour practise session, in which Robert made some adjustments to his set-up, the Arden International driver set the second best time. With a new set of tyres in qualifying Robert immediately improved his laptime, but rain kept the rookie driver out of a front row starting position.
Robert: "I'm very pleased with my performance, though I could have qualified even better if it wouldn't had start raining. I'm just a fraction of a second behind my experienced teammate Liuzzi and this 4th gridposition gives me plenty of opportunities to finish tomorrow's race on the podium again."
